Rafaela Nuñez Marizan

Rafaela Nuñez Marizan, 84, of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, at 10:27 a.m.

Born in San Francisco de Macorís, Dominican Republic, Rafaela was the beloved daughter of the late Felix Nuñez and Maria Marizan. She was one of six siblings and was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Garcia, and her brother, Samuel Marizan.

Rafaela was a devoted homemaker and a talented seamstress for over 20 years. She was known for her sharp wit, exceptional cooking skills, and never refusing a good cup of coffee. She will be remembered as a woman deeply devoted to her family.

Rafaela is survived by her five children: Jacqueline Garcia, Deyanira Garcia, John Garcia, and daughter-in-law Marilenny Baez de Garcia, Rafael Garcia, and Evelyn Diaz, and son-in-law Norberto Diaz; and her eleven grandchildren: Jonathan De Los Angeles, Zhoe Garcia, Roger Garcia, Juan Garcia, Naomi Diaz, Gabriela Diaz, Angelina Fernandez Garcia, Johnny Garcia, Jojanny Garcia, Johnniel Garcia, and Johnny Junior Garcia.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church, 323 Dickinson Street, Springfield, MA 01108.
