Lorraine Charron of Chicopee, MA

1941 - 2025

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine (Denault) Charron, age 83, on June 10, 2025, in Springfield where she was surrounded by family.

Born in Ludlow, Massachusetts, to the late Ovila Denault and Jeanne (Maheu) Denault. She graduated from Classical High School in Springfield.

Lorraine was known by some as “Butchie”, a nickname she got as a small child which stuck with her. Lorraine was one of a kind and brought much joy and happiness to friends and family, and all she came in contact with. Lorraine was a friend to many and had a generous and compassionate heart. She was always ready to lend a hand or an ear. Everyone she was connected to felt lucky to know her.

Lorraine held a variety of jobs over the years and retired after many years at State Farm Insurance. She also belonged to a charitable organization in California which allowed her to share her love and joy as a clown in parades and events for children, which she enjoyed immensely. Lorraine was a passionate and dedicated Jeopardy fan and loved learning and reading.

She lived in California for 25 years with her love, Clif, who predeceased her in 2004. She came back to Massachusetts in 2006 to be closer to family and friends.

Lorraine is survived by her three heartbroken children, Celeste Bevilacqua, Colette Gauthier, and Robert Charron, Jr., his wife Mabel and their father Bob Charron. She also leaves adored grandchildren: Michelle and her husband Dan, Tim and his wife Madelyn, Michael, Chris, and Jesse; as well as 3 great grandchildren: Janessa, James and Gabrielle; Lorraine’s cherished late brother Roger and his wife Joyce, sister Simone and her husband Ron, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other extended family members and countless dear friends.

The family plans to host a celebration of Lorraine’s life at a later date.
