Carol Elizabeth (LaPine) O’Keefe Gee January 28, 1943 – August 14, 2026 Carol Elizabeth O’Keefe Gee, born Carol Elizabeth LaPine, daughter of the late Raymond and Beatrice LaPine, passed away on August 14, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on January 28, 1943, Carol was raised in Agawam, Massachusetts, and graduated from Agawam High School, where she was honored as the Agawam Football Queen in 1959. She later attended Bay Path College. Carol shared more than 30 years of marriage with her husband, Edward Owen Gee. Together they enjoyed life on Cape Cod, where Carol was the happiest near the ocean. The couple also spent many winters in Florida, a place she greatly enjoyed. Carol will be remembered for her larger-than-life personality, strong opinions, and independent spirit. She approached life on her own terms and left a lasting impression on those who knew her. She loved the ocean, cherished her time on Cape Cod and in Florida, and found joy at the beach, on her boat, and in the natural world she so admired. She found great companionship and joy throughout the years from her German Shepherds and Maltese dogs. Family was an important part of Carol's life. She is survived by her husband, Edward Owen Gee; her son, Jeffrey Scott O'Keefe and his wife, Donna, along with their children, Sydney and Mathew; and her daughter, Shannon Ann O'Keefe and her husband, Steven, along with their children, Tessa and Nicholas. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Kim O'Keefe, widow of her late son, Kevin Thomas O'Keefe, and Kevin's children, Ashley, Patrick, and Kian, as well as her great-grandchildren, Brayden and Noah. Carol is further survived by her stepchildren, Lori Ann Layden, Melanie Beth Jimenez, and Edward Owen Gee Jr., and by her step-grandchildren, Kelsey, Sean, Patrick, Caroline, Jacqueline, and Raul. She was predeceased by her first husband, Thomas Edward O'Keefe, on November 11, 2001; her son, Kevin Thomas O'Keefe, on September 9, 2020; and her stepdaughter, Michelle Ellen Tylutki, on December 12, 2020. Carol's presence was impossible to ignore. With her strong will and distinctive personality, she left a lasting mark on the lives of those around her. Her family will carry forward the stories, memories, and moments that defined a life lived on her own terms. May she rest in peace.
